Mission Statement:
The Dorsey ~ Gray Literacy Foundation’s mission is to expand opportunities and enhance the positive quality of life for people of all ages. To develop the total person-spirit, mind, and body-with valuable education that provides the literacy skills necessary to contribute, facilitate, and promote solutions for the enrichments of all. "One page at a time".
Dorsey ~ Gray Literacy Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization based in Maryland that will help prepare people of all ages to live a more productive life through entrepreneurship, technology, and life skill education. We will open institutions throughout the states for the underserved population. We plan to use innovative technology-based approaches, from mentoring to ending poverty and injustice through means of firsthand education.
Goals and Objectives:
Dorsey ~ Gray Literacy Foundation is projected to be on the top of the chart in the next few years. Our goals are to open facilities throughout the states catering strongly to our juvenile communities; training and providing them with skills to obtain a job and reenter society with a fresh start. The staff will consist of retired/or volunteer professional to accommodate all people with the educational skills needed to initiate personal and social change. The Foundation will be a healthy, successful company that will thrive to build, strengthen and sustain individual family and community life. The proceeds of this book ‘Under His Blood’, plans to take advantage of this opportunity by promoting literacy in the ‘nobody left behind community’, one page at a time. Our objective is to first increase parents with their mastery of the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic; in order to raise children’s academic expectations and self-esteem. Then, develop effective mentoring relationships between children and positive adult role models.

By focusing on this strategic objective, existing educational and community learning centers will be more closely linked and better able to adapt their services to meet the learning needs of the community. Ongoing collaboration and participation at the governance level will facilitate the realization of these Strategic Directions.

It is anticipated that the Dorsey~ Gray Literacy Foundation staff (once operational) will conduct more detailed planning on an annual basis to identify specific services objectives and targets to be achieved.
