To be eligible you must read the novel 'UNDER HIS BLOOD' by Althea Dorsey Gray, then write an essay about what you would do if you faced the same challenges that India Reed faced when she went to the law for help only to find that the law was her opponent. For example, what steps would you take if you were asked by your boss to take classified documents to a foreign country in exchange for money? Would you go to his boss seeking help? What measures would you take to make an informed decision? Who would you turn to if you had doubts about everyone around you? Responses must be based on the novel. The essay will be scored on grammer/mechanics. Must be at least 500 words, in English, and typed double-spaced, 12 point font. Essays will be scored by a review board composed of Criminal Justice majors and college professors.
